A time lapse digital painting tutorial of Marvel’s ultimate patriot, Captain America. Recorded over a time span of approximately 20 hours, this illustration was done using Adobe Photoshop dual brushes on a Wacom Intuos 5 tablet. In it I cover the brushes I use, my toning technique, colouring and layer options.

Inspired by his appearance in the Marvel Civil War, with the entire country against him, Cap stands firm against the storm, invoking the words of another great American, Mark Twain.

When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth and tell the whole world — NO, YOU MOVE.”
