If you have a broken and corrupt society, and a large segment of people are simply tolerating it because they are being pacified with entertainment, you may want to be VERY careful when taking that entertainment from them. They will wake up to the flaws in their society, and as part of that will almost certainly view YOU as one of the problems that needs fixing.
