Why does he have to be gay? Just so you can feel like you control him and you get to have YOUR preferences on display to the world. NOT because it betters the character. Not because it provides any real substance to the story. It’s just about you having power over a cultural icon so you feel dominant in our society. That’s a pretty lousy thing to wish on such a beloved character if you ask me. You don’t love these characters or respect them at all for who they are if you just want them to be a shallow reflection of your sexual desires.
