Will DISNEY BUY SPIDER-MAN ? Can Disney control Spider-Man for 4 Billion Dollars? Will Sony take it or ask for more?

Disney has been negotiating on and off with SONY for the rights to make new Spider-Man movies. Spider-man is the only comic book character to be part of two superhero film universes, the Marvel Comics Universe (owned by DISNEY) and SONY’s SPIDER-MAN or SPIDERVERSE (owned by SONY for films).

Disney’s MCU is tremendously successful but is coming under increased pressure to create social justice versions of their heroes, limiting their potential audiences in the future. Disney needs a property like Spider-Man to help them introduce their new politically correct heroes like Captain Marvel. Disney is also terrified a growing SPIDERVERSE of films could eclipse their main properties. Disney needs a deal, SONY does not.
