Industry Doomsday for Comics! | Diamond Unable to Pay, Marvel Titles Cancelled & Image Layoffs

by 04.08.2020

In today’s video we’ll be talking about the latest comic book industry news.

Not only has Diamond shut it’s doors and delayed payment, they’ve now revealed in a statement sent to publishers that they will not be able to pay them in full until August.

Creators working for mega comic book publisher Marvel are told pencils down as the publisher cancels a third of their titles for an undetermined amount of time.

Even Image is suffering at the moment, revealing that they’ve had to begin laying off employees.

But there maybe a silver lining amid all this. Jim Lee, along with a number of other pro artists within the industry have started auctioning off their work and donating the proceeds to charities that help book stores, including comic book stores in desperate times such as these.

I hope you enjoy this video. Let me know what you think about today’s stories. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for watching, and until next time – keep on creating!
