With page rates being cut and creators not being compensated for their creations being used outside of comic pages, writers are now fleeing to Substack which is offering them a deal to host their creator-owned digital comics. Artists continue to get the short end of the stick, and corporate comics such as DC Comics and Marvel are left with nothing after the writers they spent years grooming get snatched up by competing digital platforms such as Comixology and Substack!
