Some comic book industry professionals are scoffing at the idea of making comics as a customer service. Instead of making a commercial product that customers will be happy to pay for, they want to create only what they want and expect customers to embrace it. When these creators cater to their own ego instead of the companies they work for or their fans, there is little surprise that they do not consider themselves hot dog salesmen.
