Black Flag Comics found themselves stuck with hundreds of copies of a store-exclusive variant that they couldn’t sell, so what did they do? Print an acetate cover to staple over it, and sell each copy for $100 instead – and it sold out! More interestingly, the acetate cover features the USA flag and the phrase ‘In God We Intrust America’. And Marvel isn’t too happy about this.
