Comic book news sites have been touting 2021 as the greatest year ever for the American comic book industry, with over $2b in sales. Surely that means comics news and fan sites are enjoying a slice of that pie, right? Sadly, comic publishers are tightening their purse strings by advertising less on these sites despite “record sales”, so these sites are now forced to solicit money directly from comic fans to stay afloat?!
