About Kurtis Fujita: Sifu Kurtis Fujita has the distinction of simultaneously holding the offices of Los Angeles Chairman of the United States, Traditional Kung Fu Wushu Federation, and the Hung Gar Kung Fu Advisor to the International Traditional Kung Fu Association. His writings on Kung Fu have been featured in the leading Martial Arts periodical Kung Fu Tai Chi Magazine.
In the fast paced modern era, the popularity of Kung Fu, a Martial Art requiring years of effort to master, has waned. Enter real life Kung Fu Master and professional artist/storyteller, Sifu Kurtis Fujita. He has been teaching Martial Arts for 20 years and worked as a professional artist and storyteller in comic books, video games, animation, and film on properties like “Lord of the Rings” and “Spider-Man.” Sharing his Martial Arts experience along with the hopes of inspiring others to take up the study of Kung Fu, Fujita has written and illustrated the comic book Shadow Ghost. The series tells the story of young Kit Kitano whose search for the truth behind a legendary hero, leads him to study Martial Arts in Chinatown with the reclusive Master, Sifu Sung. There, he will learn the true essence of Kung Fu and through a bit of luck and twist of fate, become part of the legend himself. While Martial Arts Comic Books have a rich history in the genre, there has never been an actual Kung Fu Master who has single handedly written and illustrated a series, until now.
