The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investment model views industries like beer and alcohol, oil and fossil fuels, comics and traditional roleplaying games (RPGs) as “harmful” socially and economically. That’s the dilemma. The push today is not for profit, but equity. So, YOU either accept that agenda, and buy the stuff you don’t want, or don’t buy it at all, and the “harmful” industry dies. Either way, whether with pushes for “inclusive” Bud Light and other beer, net zero carbon emissions by oil companies, woke comics or D&D without half-races because they’re allegedly “inherently racist”, ESG wins. On entertainment, indies are the only thing that stands in the way, but on energy, capitalism and agriculture, for our national survival, it will take collective action in legislatures and by elected leaders to prevail. They’re not trying to sell you beer, or oil, comics or D&D! In other words, it’s supposed to suck.
