Disney+ was supposed to be a competitor to Netflix, instead it’s essentially being turned into just another cable channel. Disney was forced to give cable customer a one-of-a-kind special deal, offering Disney+ and ESPN+ for free (in place of 8 unpopular cable channels) or lose all their business completely. Disney’s linear TV and streaming service businesses are changed forever. They were even obligated to guarantee access to ESPN’s full channel streaming service and it doesn’t even exist yet!
