Hallmark owners pushed out their CEO to bring in a new one to push Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and eliminate their focus on traditional values. Many of Hallmark’s biggest names including Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar, Jen Lilley, Jessica Lowndes, Cameron Mathison and Trevor Donovan have jumped ship to competitor Great American Family, run by former CEO Bill Abbott, who is focused on maintaining the values and traditions of what Hallmark used to be.

With Hallmark disappointing fans, competitor Great American Family has quickly began creating content that emphasizes the holidays and is as family-friendly as can be. Many of the former stars from the Hallmark channel, most notably Candace Cameron Bure, Daniel Lissing, Danica McKellar, Jen Lilley, and Trevor Donovan, and this is no coincidence; this is a deliberate chess move to contribute to the parallel economy of ideas.
