In this most compelling and competitive supercross season in the 50 years of the sport, we take a look back at an indoor Philadelphia motorcycle race held 51 years ago… and though there’s only been three “official” supercross races ever held in the City of Brotherly Love, a championship was decided there… a short 44 years ago.

Being a rather grumpy old man who once made a living as a professional motorsports journalist – back when such a thing existed on a wider scale, and was arguably an honorable enough profession – I don’t actually like or fundamentally agree with “fair use.”
But all the kids are doing it these days. It’s a real thing. And I’m relegated to coloring between the lines as best I can with a corporate boot on my neck. Further, resigned that if I want to write about the sport I’ve been involved with and loved my entire life, I’ll have to produce video essays. (‘Cause, you know, no one reads anymore.)
