Alan Moore has come out to express disdain for the term ‘graphic novel’ when it is being used to describe a trade collection of comics. Is he right to be upset? Has that term been used wrongly by the industry? Should the comic industry be in fact moving to the graphic novel format instead of the monthly single issues format given the decline of floppy sales?
