My video art diary of my work for my independent comic book, The Lucent. This comic book art is actually for my trading card set, available to order at thelucentcomic.com. In it I’m colouring Utnapishtim, the legendary Sumerian King who ruled after the great flood. Many consider him to be the Mesopotamian version of the Bible’s Noah. He’s found in the Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest surviving written story we have. Here I can be seen flatting the line art, then applying cell shading, and lastly using the cut and grad method to air brush in highlights and shadows.
