Effeuiller La Marguerite – He loves me, He loves me not…

by 03.19.2025

My wife has a beautiful poetic mind. She asked me to help bring an idea she had to life, and so we created this comic titled “Effeuiller La Marguerite.” The title is the name of a game that children play in which they pluck the pedals of a flower one by one saying “He loves me, He loves me not, etc…” The final remaining pedal determines whether or not the person playing is loved.

Often meant for childhood crushes, Rachael reimagined the meaning through the eyes of a little girl who feels unloved and desperately plucks through an entire field of flowers searching for just one pedal to give her hope. To tell her she’s loved…
