In this video I’m going through different methods of how to convert color artwork to grayscale or black and white. There are several common methods, but I believe I’ve found one that no one else is talking about, that will give any art a dynamic, manga-like quality, with dark blacks, and light highlights. Other methods, such as converting the image to grayscale, or simply desaturating the colours offer no control over the final result, and gradient maps and black and white color mixing are powerful in their own ways, they do require a lot of tweaking to get the final result you’re looking for.
