It was declared a subversive masterpiece by the media, shill twitterati, and pretentious art bros who believe in theme above all. But why did we hate it? Why so much outrage? We were told it was because of bigotry or because we pitiful dullards simply wanted to munch our popcorn and drool at the pretty lightsabers while Rian Johnson provided a “intellectual masterpiece.” However, the real reason is not only a little more complex – it’s the opposite. Now, eight years later, let’s return to the movie that shattered the Star Wars legacy.
