19. 9-5 Then it’s Cartoonist Time!

We bust are ass 9-5 then we come home and make comics and I wouldn’t want it any other way! Artists are not paid well enough because the industry is in decline. No matter what you work on you’ll never be getting paid what you’re owed. If you did work in marvel, DC or Image you could build your fan base for life and you would have an awesome I.P. on your next resume. And your popularity would simply get you work. Your 9-5 gives you a break from your book that you love and it’s waiting for you when you get off. You won’t get burnt out as fast.You own your ip and you call the shots and if it’s not a hit, it’s a success because it’s a learning step. Hopefully this will help you on your artistic journey!
