Indie Comic A.A.R. #2: Man-Child 1-3 with Nandor Fox Schafer

by 02.25.2026

Man-Child: This series is a commentary on comic book fandom as well as an opportunity to put the widely-used expression “man-child” on trial through the lens of the modern day. Telling two separate storylines in an alternating narrative — one taking place in the innocent silver-age superhero universe of the Monarch-Crier and the other in our not-so-innocent world with super comic book nerd Rufus Boston — Man-Child weaves the dream with the dreamer and fantasy with reality.

We are joined by Indie Creator, Nandor Fox Schafer, of Foxhole Studios, author of great comics such as Seasons vol 1-3. Fabled Offering, and Lifeline. Tonight we are bringing his series Man-Child to Indie Comic A.A.R What is an A.A.R., you may be asking? Well, if you were in the service, you already know, A.A.R. stands for After Action Review (Report), where we break a mission down to summarize what the objective was, how it was accomplished, and give 3 sustains and 3 improves. At the end, I will give the issue, or in this case, each issue, a Combat Readiness rating of Fire superiority. Army Infantry doctrine states that the recommended fire superiority to provide overmatch in any given conflict is 3 to 1. So based on that scale, we will rate the comic for its fire superiority!
