In this no-holds-barred review, I break down Lee Cronin’s (Evil Dead Rise) bold new take on The Mummy. This isn’t your typical monster movie — it’s a brutal, atmospheric, and deeply unsettling demonic possession horror film that leans hard into body horror and psychological terror.
⚠️ Not for the squeamish. This one gets nasty, graphic, and genuinely disturbing in ways that feel closer to The Exorcist or Evil Dead than the Brendan Fraser or Tom Cruise versions.
If you’re a hardcore horror fan who loves practical effects, intense performances, and directors who aren’t afraid to go dark, you’ll probably enjoy this a lot. Just don’t go in expecting much traditional “mummy” stuff. The horror here is personal, visceral, and demonic.
