LIVE: Drawing the Lost City of Akkad – Part5| Fixing Those Tricky Mesopotamian Zig-Zags!

Welcome back to the chaotic construction site that is the Lost City of Akkad! In today’s stream, we’re diving back into the ancient dust of Mesopotamia, where very little actual drawing might get finished… but that’s never stopped us before.

Today’s mission: tackling those stubborn zig-zag crenellations and decorative battlements that sit atop the walls. You know the ones — the funky stepped patterns that look simple in reference photos but turn into absolute gremlins when you try to draw them freehand. We’re going to experiment with different approaches, simplify the geometry, play with perspective, and hopefully nail that iconic Mesopotamian fortress vibe once and for all.

Expect plenty of tangents, bad jokes, ancient history rants, and chat deciding what ridiculous detail we add next (last stream someone convinced me to put a tiny ziggurat on a rooftop… we’re rolling with it). This series is equal parts art tutorial, history nerd session, and unhinged group hangout. Whether you’re here for the drawing tips, the lore, or just the vibes, you’re in the right place.
