Larry Correia went on Facebook to complain that his new book couldn’t hit number one in fantasy because the charts are dominated by what he called low quality romantasy content with dragons. He’s right about the problem. Romantasy has pushed traditional fantasy completely off the charts. Then he said more power to you ladies, not that there’s anything wrong with it, and hinted he might write his own romantasy series. I’m a working sci-fi and fantasy author and I need to talk about why this is exactly the wrong response to a real problem.
