Amazon MGM Studios canceled the Stargate revival in 2026 after completing a full writers room and entering pre-production, killing a series that had the original Stargate SG-1 creative team attached. Fans who wanted a faithful return to the Stargate franchise were betrayed again as Amazon decided the show was too close to what made Stargate great.
