Michael Shanks announced at the SaveStargate Comic-Con event on July 25, 2026 that he’s launching a Stargate SG-1 rewatch podcast with cast and crew guests for every episode, targeting a mid-October launch with plans to continue through Atlantis and Universe if the show catches on. Simultaneously the SaveStargate campaign flew a second aerial banner over the San Diego Convention Center — following the first flyover above Amazon MGM Studios’ Culver City headquarters in June. With 115,000 petition signatures, two Times Square billboards, and now a podcast that doesn’t need Amazon’s permission to exist, the SaveStargate movement is building infrastructure Amazon cannot cancel a second time.
