Apple TV+ dropped the first Neuromancer trailer at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, with showrunner Graham Roland and director J.D. Dillard adapting William Gibson’s 1984 cyberpunk novel across a ten-episode first season starring Callum Turner as Case and Briana Middleton as Molly. Gibson, who has watched serious attempts by Chris Cunningham, Chuck Russell, Vincenzo Natali, and Tim Miller all fail to get a Neuromancer film made, shared the trailer on Bluesky and wrote that anyone who can’t see how satisfied he’s been throughout production “doesn’t get what I most want out of an adaptation” — the clearest endorsement he’s given any adaptation of his work. The trailer draws inevitable Matrix comparisons, but Gibson’s novel predates and directly influenced the Wachowskis — Apple isn’t copying The Matrix, it’s returning to the source The Matrix borrowed from.
