Brandon Sanderson’s latest Eye of the World leatherbound video update addressed inconsistent debossing and foil work on the cover — but left untouched a separate list of interior complaints documented on r/brandonsanderson for months: broken bindings failing independently of cover issues, full-color art plates misaligned from a binding line error affecting every copy of that run, The Shadow Rising missing from the series listing, “A Crown of Swords” misprinted as “A Crown of Thorns” in the front matter of every copy, faded lines in interior art, and unaddressed endpaper weight concerns. A collector’s edition marketed as a heirloom has to hold together as a book — and a fixed cover with the same interior problems is not a complete fix for backers who paid $300-plus for an archival quality edition.
