Gen Con hired Camilla Cleghorn — longtime on-camera presenter for The Dice Tower and key organizer of Dice Tower East — as its new head of events following a record 74,000 attendee Gen Con 2026 that sold out for the third consecutive year. Cleghorn’s departure from The Dice Tower, which she called “bittersweet,” drew a joking “thievery” response from Dice Tower founder Tom Vasel, who confirmed she’ll still make occasional appearances on the channel. The hire is a meaningful signal about how tightly board game media and the convention circuit have become intertwined — and a real loss for one of tabletop YouTube’s most established channels at a moment when the hobby is growing faster than its biggest convention can accommodate.
