A transgender activist confronted Halloween shoppers buying Harry Potter costumes, warning them that the purchase makes them “not an ally to the trans community” and claiming JK Rowling uses costume revenue to fund anti-trans legislation. In this video I break down why this moment perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with the campaign against Harry Potter, why JK Rowling keeps winning, and why the franchise only keeps getting bigger the harder activists push against it.
