NOBODY Is Seeing THIS Sci-Fi Movie But It’s Really GOOD And Worth Your Time!

by 11.01.2026

Klara and the Sun opened October 23rd to mixed-to-negative reviews, a quiet box office, and almost no buzz — and that’s a shame, because it’s one of the more genuinely thoughtful sci-fi films in years. Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Jenna Ortega as Klara, an AI companion to a genetically “lifted” child in a near-future dystopia, the film asks real questions about faith, consciousness, and what it means to love something you can never fully understand. Yes, the second half is overstuffed and some subplots get squeezed — but Ortega delivers one of her best performances, and the emotional core lands. Jon Del Arroz reviews Klara and the Sun, makes the case for why critics got it wrong, and explains why fans of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel and thoughtful science fiction owe it a look.
