The MAGIC Tool I use to Erase Blue Lines from Scanned Artwork

by 03.04.2025

My video art diary of my work for my independent comic book, The Lucent, available to order at thelucentcomic.com. In it I’m showing off the method I use to erase any blue lines that remain on scanned artwork. Instead of using levels, which is a global solution that effects the entire page, I prefer to use a mix of Hue & Saturation adjustment, along with the Burn and Dodge tool to go into specific areas and erase only what I want to. I’ve found it’s the best way to get rid of these pesky marks without blasting the rest of the line art.

My name is Michael Bancroft and I’m an independent comic book writer and artist. If you’re a fan of the indies, or comic books in general, especially European and French-style Bande Desinnée, then please check out my channel. I want to make more original content based on my own work, so if you’re interested in this kind of video, please hit like, subscribe, and leave a comment.
