The Warlord is a deep series exploring the struggles of a man out of time. This book created by Mike Grell delves into the journey of a modern-day Air Force pilot who finds himself trapped in a land of barbarians, ancient mysticism, and in a time out of the far past. A surprisingly introspective work, the series ran in the late 1970s and was a great departure from the normal DC superhero books that were all the rage.
