Absolute Batman retailer variants are the hottest books on the market right now, and Mark Brooks thinks that the artists who are responsible for drawing those covers should be getting 50% of the money instead of a pittance from the retailers. Rob Liefeld chimes in his agreement, but both of them are missing the elephant in the room: how will the direct market benefit from Absolute Batman sales if they don’t get to keep most of the profits to reinvest in more books?
