Spider-Man #1000 may have sold over 400k copies, but Marvel’s market share is actually lower than DC Comics’s right now. This historical drop-off does not seem to bother their Disney owners, and Marvel themselves appear content to let other publishers print their books for them instead. Do all these signs point to an eventual dissolving of Marvel as a standalone publisher and come under the Disney imprint instead?
