South Park Season 29 opens with “South American Biker Gangs” — the funniest episode the show has produced in years and a genuine return to form after a Season 27-28 stretch that played more like political fixation than satire. The rebrand to “South America” is a running background joke at Trump’s renaming spree, played through understatement rather than lecture, which is the first sign the episode is built differently than last season’s material. Randy Marsh assembles the town’s fathers into a biker gang to fight an e-bike epidemic, consults Google on how “South Americans” handle such problems, and follows advice meant for the actual continent — bribing police and planting car bombs — without noticing the mismatch. Cartman’s e-bike crash through a Denny’s window is staged as a direct Akira homage. Kenny gets unmuffled dialogue for the first time in years. The line of the night has a character say things will get better in November — setting up a midterms punchline before landing on GTA VI instead. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 — South Park has found its footing again.
