The Anakin posting trend exploded on X in late October 2026, with conservatives using AI-generated images of Anakin Skywalker to express everything from economic frustration to traditional family values — and Elon Musk poured gasoline on it by posting an image of Anakin on a throne with Padme and his children, captioned “This is what they stole from us.” The left responded with predictable outrage, calling it fascist propaganda. Jon Del Arroz breaks down where the trend came from, why Anakin works so perfectly as a conservative symbol, how it compares to the Malfoid meme that dominated just weeks earlier, and what it says about the ongoing conservative takeover of pop culture iconography in 2026.
