With Kathleen Kennedy’s Lucasfilms contract coming to an end in October 2021 and the string of flops under her belt since her contract was last renewed in 2018, rumors are abound that she has been preparing for Jon Favreau to succeed her position. But Favreau is being courted by other major studios as well, and with the way they treated Cara Dune – a character that he created with Gina Carano in mind – he may need more incentive to stay on. With Gina’s recent reappearance on Disney Plus and her toys back on shelves, is she due for a return to Star Wars as a condition of Favreau staying?
