Activist Edward Blum wins AGAIN! First he KILLED discriminatory affirmative action race-based application policies in colleges and now this! Two top law firms in recent weeks have quietly modified their diversity programs in response to legal threats from conservatives, removing race-based eligibility criteria and other provisions that experts said violated civil rights law.
Winston & Strawn, which offered a $50,000 “scholarship” to minority summer associates, got rid of the program’s racial criteria after the American Alliance for Equal Rights, a conservative nonprofit, filed a discrimination lawsuit against the firm. Susman Godfrey, which operated a diversity fellowship for “underrepresented groups,” did the same amid legal threats.

Conservative legal activists successfully challenged the use of affirmative action by universities. Now they are going after diversity initiatives widely deployed across American corporations. Some companies are already reconsidering their efforts.
In lawsuits, shareholder letters and petitions to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, activists are using some of the same tactics that progressive groups have used to advance diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, programs. They are arguing that companies are violating rules against race- and sex-discrimination, including those drawn from legislation designed to secure the rights of Black Americans.
