The End Of Oak Street Sold A Family Movie And Delivered A Feminist LECTURE!

by 08.17.2026

The End of Oak Street marketed itself as a family survival film — a father, mother, son, daughter, and dinosaurs on a suburban street — and delivered a bait-and-switch in which the father is killed, the son is crippled, and the mother becomes a female warrior guided by a librarian with a shotgun who appears from nowhere to deliver an empowerment speech. Jon Del Arroz walked out at the climax and explains exactly what the film signaled from the first ten minutes, how the marketing deliberately concealed the film’s actual ideology, and why this kind of bait-and-switch is the specific reason he stopped paying for movies years ago.
