One sure fire way to grow a YouTube channel quickly is to do drama videos. Pull off the right kind of a drama video and your subscriber count will rocket to the moon faster than a Elon Musk on a Bolivian Lithium mine.
commiting to covering drama is like a deal with the devil – it’ll eat your soul but if youre here watching and you dont have a soul? Then pay attention because this is “Commi3 Marks How to Make a Drama Channel” video.
There are 3 distinct types of Drama videos a creator can make. The first and safest of these methods is the typical “Outrage de jour” video. Go to google trends and scroll through the top searches of the day till you find something that makes you think “Man I’m so angry about this”. Pull up an article and tell your viewers how angry you are about whatever it is.
Of the three methods this one requires the most work. You have to upload videos basically daily as the zeitgeist changes so quickly. These videos also lose value rapidly. No way am I gonna watch your video “Is Zack Snyders Justice League going straight to streaming?” no matter how funny it may have been. The film already came out. That video is worthless now. Just like Zack Snyders Justice League.
Its a lot of work to make a channel like this, I mean not compared to working down a lithium mine or a real job that requires manual labour but this next method does require getting your hands dirty.
If you dont have the stamina or the worth ethic involved in the first option that’s fine. Instead you can eploit others and have them bring drama straight to you! This method is very easy. Start a live stream with a name like “The Neutral Zone!!! – no Drama allowed” but what are you gonna talk about? It doesnt matter! Its an open mic and within minutes some “billy bollocks” comes on from the chat and just starts talking about themselves. But don’t worry “contrarian 69 / 420 in the chat says that your guest has a stupid voice and should oof themselves and you can pop that comment up on the screen.
Just keep going. Let everyone in who wants to come in. if you get 10 guys all in they can just talk over the top of each other, constantly trying to wrestle the conversation back to them and their thing all sniping at each other until one person resorts to shouting to be heard and then. Uhoh. Now we have drama. Sit back and watch Mr Angry showdown with Lemon Licker Larry as you selectively throw petrol on the fire with comments from the chat
This method is time consuming though and some “Open Mic Chat shit get banged” shows can take like six hours to get to anything spicy. But worst of all they are boring. The car crash parts are interesting sure. But i’m not gonna sit through a six hour live stream of shouty mc shout face to get the part where he called Wanky Doodle an alt-right nazi scumbag who kills has sex with chickens. At least clip that bit out of context and re-upload it as a new video.
Which leads us to option 3. Which im gonna call the Venti Method. Getting a bunch of nobodies to fight each other and sitting back waving your little switzerland flag is still technically “covering drama” you didnt technically start it. You just created the conditions for drama to thrive and naturally it did. The next step means crossing the rubicon into creating drama.
Look around the place and try and figure out who has some big juicy clout and start a fight with them. It doesnt matter why really. Just go back through twitter and highlight some of the best jokes you can find and then point and scream “youre the next hitler” and then boom.
Collect all your evidence into a video and tweet everybody you know with clips of it and everybody that they know. If a person with a 100k+ channel spotlights you, even for a neagtive reason you’ll get a bump as all the arse kissing notice me senpai brown knights flood over to your channel to leave dislikes and defend their boy.
The problem is that drama ALWAYS ends with a bang, with an explosion. And the problem with explosions is that they hurt everyone in the blast radius. If the other guy is bigger than you, chances are hes gonna walk away fine and the remains of your channel litter the streets, blown into a million peices. You could might be able to t-1000 yourself back toegther but youll be made of less parts every time.
But the real reason to avoid drama is of course that it eats your soul. This path does not lead to happiness. You might grab a few dollars on the way up but focusing your attention on watching, looking for and starting fights will sour your reality. Just don’t engage with that shit. When drama come to your table send it away without a second thought. A response from you is what feeds this cycle.
